Yoga on Lake Rippowam

Special Events

Yoga is for everyone, at any age, and in any physical condition! You don’t have to be strong and flexible to do yoga, but yoga will help you gain strength and flexibility. It can both calm you and energize you.

Come and join me for yoga in Westchester County, New York. I currently hold classes in South Salem, Irvington, Mount Kisco, Yonkers, and Rye. If you have a specific condition that you would like to address, be it structural, physiological, or psychological (or some combination of these!),  private yoga therapy sessions might be best for you. You can schedule private yoga or yoga therapy sessions at my South Salem location or in your own home.

I am trained, and teach, in the Viniyoga style.

Emphasis on the breath - linking breath to movement; using the breath to support and enhance movement, to energize, to de-stress, to refresh.

Repetition of two or three poses, setting up a gentle rhythm, which warms up the muscles and joints and makes it safer to subsequently hold poses for several breaths

Adaptations of poses for each individual practitioner – getting the pose into the person, not the person into the pose!

For more information about Viniyoga, please go to the American Viniyoga Institute web site.

About the name...

The Rippowam Tribe occupied the area that is now northeastern Westchester County in New York and northwest Fairfield County in Connecticut, the area in which I live and teach. My South Salem classes are held in view of Lake Rippowam and, weather permitting, we have class outside at the lakefront.

"Dear Stephanie, You are an exceptional teacher, we believe, for reasons that transcend professional training and Viniyoga’s physical disciplines.  You communicate on a deeply human and spiritual level.  It is trust in your teaching and guidance that sees us benefit in body, mind, and spirit.  Your program exceeds expectations.  Thank you very much!"
